About Arizona City

About Arizona CityArizona City is an official part of the Juan Bautista de Anza Historic Trail. In 1775 Bautista and his party rested in the Arizona City area after coming out of Apache Land. This historic trail begins in Sonora, Mexico and ends at the Presidio in San Francisco, California.

We are located in the Santa Cruz Valley, close to the Sawtooth Mountains. Arizona City is a planned community at the midpoint of the Phoenix-Tucson corridor in Pinal County. Cattle ranching and agriculture are both abundant in the area and the lands in and around Arizona City include both industrial and commercially zoned areas. Rock hounds will enjoy the selection of distinctive agates, a type of quartz with bands of color that can be found at the Agate Fields just south of Arizona City.

Arizona City is bordered by the Sells / Tohono O'odham Reservation to the South, the AK-Chin Indian Community to the West and the Gila River Indian Community to the Northwest. Each Native American Community has its scenic attractions and annual events open to the public.

Arizona City was established over 50 years ago when the Arizona City Development Corporation saw great potential and started building. Today the community has a year round population of about 5,000 residents and in the winter it grows to accommodate our winter residents who enjoy the weather and community.

In this quiet town, we have a public library, community center, restaurants, 18-hole golf course, lake for fishing, Boys and Girls Club, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, elementary school, post office, Moose Lodge, stores. salons, churches, Sheriff Sub-Station, and volunteer fire department. Services that are not found right in Arizona City are available in neighboring communities such as Casa Grande, Eloy, Florence, and Coolidge.

Whether you are retired, single, or a family...all you need can be found in or within minutes of Arizona City.
